Campfire and Zoo

We also made a campfire and toasted marshmallows. Julia wanted to make smores, but we didn't have chocolate or graham crackers. Luckily, someone had a great idea to cut a fudge round cookie in half. They were delicious! Here are some more pictures of the zoo too!

Weekend Fun

Last weekend, my friend Becky came down with her daughters Julia and Grace. We had a wonderful time exploring the Natural History Museum on Saturday. When Julia saw the large amethyst, she told us she wanted to steal it. It was bigger than her! We saw dinosaurs and birds, and all sorts of other cool things. We came back that night and played with the ferrets, which is always a kid favorite. At one point, Grace grabbed the cat toy, which is a plastic stick with a string on the end-but she had it turned around backwards and was basically smacking the ferrets with a plastic rod. On Sunday we went to the Living Treasures zoo, dropping off a raccoon we caught in the live trap on the way. The zoo was really fun, more like a large petting zoo. We even got to feed and pet a baby giraffe. And the wallabies has babies in their pouches! We ended the day by breaking rocks with hammers in the road to see what was inside of them. I couldn't have asked for a better visit!
